I've always thought it makes the pictures "bulge".
I don't know how the XA2 selects apertures and shutter speeds in AE mode - no-one else seems to know either, so it could be these were shot at f/3.5 1/500 or something odd. The lens is nice and sharp though.

The second photo really takes full advantage of XA's heavy vignetting (at all apertures!)
